It's true... She actually liked it (after the first few gagging faces). Every once in a while she'd get a "leaf"(?) in the back of her throat and the girls (Sara & Caroline) would shreik that I am killing Cate. All in all, she enjoyed her first fresh veggie. Judging on the faces she makes when eating chicken, turkey or beef, she may just be a vegan.
So, we checked out the latest updates to the blogs when folks were here on Christmas - the consensus was that it looked like Cate was chowing down on a green cookie. Not a veggie at all. But if that was just green sprinkles, she'd look happier...
I assure you, it's broccoli. But when I enlarge it as much as is possible, I can STILL see where it could be mistaken for a flat piece of sugary, baked, green dough.

But look how gamely she tries to enjoy it - for the photographer's sake!
I don't blame you, Cate. Ick. Try chocolate cake. It tastes MUCH better.
